Position: Hygiene Promotion Officer
Location: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh
Organization: Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Salary: BDT 78,520/month (Grade 05)
Travel Requirement: ~90% within program areas
Vacancy Type: Full-time, National Position (Bangladeshi Nationals only)

Role Purpose
To lead and implement daily hygiene promotion activities under NRC’s WASH projects in Cox’s Bazar and other operational areas. The officer ensures effective planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting while optimizing resource use and promoting community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute hygiene promotion plans aligned with project strategies and budgets.
• Coordinate with WASH sector partners and community committees (schools, host communities).
• Oversee procurement and distribution of hygiene kits and materials.
• Conduct hygiene sessions and campaigns addressing AWD, scabies, typhoid, diarrhea, etc.
• Mentor WASH focal points in informal settlements and schools, promoting MHM and emergency response.
• Monitor behavioral changes and hygiene practices through committee reports.
• Design and share IEC materials and lesson plans with the team.
• Support assessments, FGDs, and KIIs as required.
• Introduce innovative methods and technologies to improve hygiene promotion quality.
• Supervise hygiene promotion staff, set objectives, and provide regular feedback.
