 Shimantik is a national national level non-government organization in Bangladesh. It established in 1979. They initially provide service to flood stricken people of Kanaighat and Zakigonj Upazilas of Sylhet. Now it expanded their activities to cover wide ranging programmatic and geographical areas as like environmental development, communicable disease, income generating activities, formal education, primary health care, skill training, family planning, reproductive health, newborn care, non communicable disease, women development, environment development and disaster relief. To increase their activities, now they want to recruit some people for following position.

Position: Midwife

Educational Qualification: Must have completed 3 years Diploma in Midwifery course from an institution recognized by the government. Registration will be obtained by Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Experience: Must have at least one year of practical experience in Pregnant Maternal Care, Maternity Care, Maternal and Newborn Health Care and Family Planning. Have an idea about pregnant mother's services, postpartum services, postpartum mother and newborn services and various methods of family planning. Need to have the right idea about newborns essential health care and nutrition work. Must have practical experience in normal delivery work. In the case of mothers and newborns - must have knowledge of emergency patient management and have the ability to refer when needed. Experienced in providing services to FWC and Satellite Clinics. Experienced in conducting and implementing satellite clinic sessions. Experienced in providing physical examination, counseling and services to incoming clients for permanent / temporary methods of family planning. Prepared and updated work list of pregnant women.

Job Location: Brahmanbaria, Sunamganj, Sylhet

Requirements: Must have the mentality to work in remote rural areas. Must have interpersonal communication skills. Must have the mentality to work in a team work approach. Reporting skills. Comply with the rules and regulations of the employer. Implement the activities of the program keeping in view the goals and objectives of the organization. Adhere to the Save the Children Child Protection Policy. Adhere to the Family Planning Compliance Policy. Must have a strong sense of accountability for decision making, necessary asset management, and achieving the goals and objectives of USAID's 'Mommy' MNCSP project. Effective relationships must be maintained inside and outside the organization. Respect the opinions and values ​​of others. Be a good listener and speak simply.Upazila Coordinator will act as the line supervisor as per the policy of Rakalp. Submit all kinds of reports to the Upazila Coordinator. Training / workshops, educational inspections, coordination with the staff of the affiliated organization, all these activities have to be done in collaboration with the supervisor.

Responsibilities: USAID's 'Mommy' will be involved in the management and implementation of MNCSP project activities at the union level, including maternity services, maternity services, maternal and newborn health services, and family planning. Conduct activities under the direct supervision of the Upazila Co-coordinator of the project and hold him accountable for the progress of all types of work. The project needs to work in coordination with other partner agencies and the government.

Salary: BDT 33,000 Taka
