Position: MEAL Assistant

Key Responsibilities of MEAL Assistant

1. Monitoring, Assessment and Evaluation
Support planning and design of MEAL activities in line with project objectives and donor requirements.
Coordinate and oversee key assessments, including baseline, mid-term, PDM, and end-line surveys.
Assist in developing data collection tools and methodologies.
Conduct field visits for monitoring and data collection.
Maintain quality control and data verification systems.
Review and update monitoring plans for continuous program alignment.

2. Field-Based Monitoring and Coordination
Lead real-time monitoring systems and provide evidence-based recommendations.
Conduct cash distribution monitoring and manage mobile CFM desk operations.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth MEAL activity implementation.
Oversee beneficiary verification and ensure quality data collection.
Supervise enumerators and ensure KoBo data quality and verification.

3. Data Management and Reporting
Manage online data systems (KoBo/ODK).
Support data cleaning, validation, and analysis processes.
Contribute to comprehensive MEAL reports and data visualizations.
Ensure accuracy, reliability, and confidentiality of all data.

4. Accountability Systems
Support implementation and maintenance of complaints and feedback mechanisms (CFM).
Ensure effective processing, resolution, and communication of feedback.
Maintain and analyze CFM databases to identify key trends and inform program improvements.

5. Learning and Knowledge Management
Document lessons learned, case studies, and best practices.
Contribute to field monitoring and analytical reports.
Support learning events, reflection sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

6. Compliance and Ethics
Ensure ethical standards in all data collection and reporting processes.
Uphold ACTED policies and Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).
Protect data confidentiality and uphold professional integrity.

7. Coordination and Support
Provide regular updates and technical inputs to supervisors.
Support training and capacity building of field teams and enumerators.
Coordinate survey logistics and ensure adequate MEAL resourcing.
Represent the MEAL team in internal and external coordination meetings.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Technical Support:
Quality and timeliness of MEAL activities
Accuracy of data collection and verification
Quality of enumerator supervision

Field Operations:
Timely and accurate field monitoring
Effective coordination with program teams

Data Management:
Reliability and accuracy of database systems
Timely submission of reports and analysis

Accountability:
Quality of CFM management
Timeliness of feedback response and reporting
Required Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field.

Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year in a MEAL or MEAL-related role within the humanitarian/development sector.
Experience in refugee response is preferred.
Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Strong understanding of humanitarian principles and standards.
Experience managing field teams and enumerators.

Skills and Competencies:
Strong command of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
Experience with mobile data collection platforms (KoBo, ODK).
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Bangla and Rohingya preferred.
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable in field settings.
